Jake most definitely took his first steps (and many more!) at 8 months old yesterday!!!
He's been walking around with our hands literally nonstop for the past month, can stand on his own for a few seconds at a time, and has been trying to take steps off of furniture for awhile now, but he would only take a couple falling steps and then faceplant. His struggle has been that he gets really excited and tries to go so fast that he doesn't have time for balance. It's been so funny to watch.
Apparently Jake was waiting for the right location (Balboa Beach) and the right audience (my entire family) to take his real first steps. He strings together a good 4, 5, or 6 steps at a time and is quite proud of himself! We're pretty proud of him, too.

Update: Make that 10,12 or more steps at a time. He's been doing this all night!:

ReplyDeleteLOL! I thought you said he was walking? That looks like a full on run to me!! I can't believe he's walking so soon! That is awesome! Irelee just started walking too and she takes really slow steps, so it threw me off to see how dang fast he is! That was awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis literally brought big happy tears to my eyes! I am so proud of him! He is one determined little guy! He sure worked hard to get to this point! And yes, walking babies are so so so much fun!
