We've all heard that the San Diego Zoo is the end-all, be-all, zoo-of-all-zoos. But how much more awesome could one zoo really be than the others? A whole awful lot, we found out. The San Diego Zoo blew us away. It's so beautiful and big and has the most incredible exhibits and habitats for the animals. Plus, it has a great double decker bus tour that covers 70% of the zoo and an aerial tram that takes you from one end to the other. AND it has more unique animals than the average zoo. Um, and did I mention all the baby animals that were there when we visited? I am a sucker for a baby anything. The baby koala and panda about killed me.
Actually, it was my baby who killed me with his cuteness. He loved seeing and jabbering about all the animals! But the very best part was when we were on the bus tour. Jake had clearly taken note of all the people around him taking pictures. When I got our little point-and-shoot out to take a video, he stole the camera from me, put it up to his face, turned out to the animals and said, "Cheese!" Jake then proceeded to instruct the animals to say "cheese" for the remainder of the tour. He made quite a few fans as a result, and we had multiple people comment about how cute he was. It was the most adorable thing ever.
