Quarter of a Century

I'm convinced I have the best birthday date ever. Thanks to an Air Force family day and good ol' Labor Day, my birthday falls on a four-day holiday weekend more often than not. And what better gift than extra quality time with people I love? Also, summer. So yes, like I said, it's the best.

My last few birthday weekends have included things like Disneyland and beaches and the like (yes, I went to Disneyland when I was 39 weeks pregnant last year), and they were perfect. This year, I was super lucky and got to see my entire family over the weekend, and we did our best to recreate the ocean with the wave pool at Seven Peaks on my actual birthday. It was all so fun!

It's kind of a funny thing turning 25 though. Isn't that supposed to be a grown-up age? In my teenage plan, 25 is when I would be an adult and settle down and put my career aside to start making babies. So in that sense, I suppose I've followed through -- I have the husband, am buying the house, enjoyed the career, and am now a stay-at-home mom to my cutest little baby. But even with all of that, I feel so young. Forty-year-olds are the real grown-ups, right? I would say thirty, but Matt will be thirty next year and let's face it -- none of us are quite ready to "grow up" just yet. We're simply having too much fun to bother with that seriousness. Pretty sure our plan is to grow old, if we must, but never grow up. Who's with me?
