My sweet, perfect, happy baby boy turned one-year-old today.
This has been the best year of our lives -- by far. It's amazing to reflect back on that sunny summer day when he joined our little family. That day was so surreal and wonderful and powerful and moving and absolutely perfect. We were so infatuated with Jake then, and we are so much deeper in love with him now. Matt and I have grown so much and learned so much about love and life in our first 365 days of parenthood. Jake has brought so much happiness and pure joy into our world, and we still pinch ourselves at the thought that he is ours. Matt and I feel so, so lucky to be the ones he calls "Mama" and "Daddy." We still can't seem to thank our Heavenly Father enough for that incredible blessing. Jakey, you're the best! We love you forever.
This picture is actually from his milk & cookies party last weekend. I sort of became one of "those" moms and went all out. Oh, but it's all been so much fun and I can't wait to share! In the meantime, we're cuddled up on the couch with our sweet little sickie (so sad), reminiscing about his birth day and his first birthday. You can join in by reading all about his
