New Year's Day is a big milestone for me and Matt. Our first date was on January 1st, so with every new year on the calendar, we also turn the sand over on a whole new year for the two of us. Today marks the fourth anniversary of our first date and thus our fifth NYD spent together.
Last year, I summed up our 2009 by the numbers and thought I'd do the same this time around! Each number has a link associated with it, so feel free to explore if you're so inclined.
2010 By the Numbers
121 - We kicked off the year by sleeping on the streets of LA for the 121st Rose Parade
365 - Days of marital bliss celebrated on Kauai (despite missing our flight)

7 - Visits (and counting!) to the Happiest Place on Earth
19 - Days spent at our SoCal beaches
4 - Lieutenants (and a wife) returned to the Academy to meet President Uchtdorf
8 - Trips to Utah
(F)16 - Matt’s work revolved around the F-16 this year
102 - Sports articles written by Ashley
2 - Tries to win my cow at the fair
All 14 - Members of my family got to be together for Memorial Day--including Baby Tasha
37 - Members of Matt’s family joined us for our fake family reunion
2 - Front row seats at both American Idol and DWTS (to see Daughtry, of course)
163 - Dollars spent painting our home
250 - Cents for every bag of chocolate chips turned into cookies
3 - June weddings
369 - Miles driven to San Francisco for the 4th of July
12 - Temple visits at 5 different temples
23 - Sporting events attended together
1812 - Overture heard, along with many other songs at concerts
4 - Days in San Diego with my family, including a romantic beach proposal
5971 - Miles traveled by our German friends to visit us in California
And, as you’ll see in upcoming posts:
25 - One of the most fun Christmases ever
1 - Big jump
Ah, and that about wraps up our 2010. It was full of ups and downs, but we like to think we made the best of it. We made great memories and are so excited to see what 2011 has in store! After all, we're bigger fans of odd years anyway. :-)
So, at last, we wish you all a very happy New Year!
