Afternoon sun in San Clemente

It is not uncommon for the weather forecast to predict highs of 92-degree highs inland and a mere 65-degrees on the beach, even in the summertime. Our Friday afternoon in San Clemente was definitely one of those days--nice and hot in Los Angeles, nice and cool along the water. Though I'm not crazy enough to actually swim in the Pacific Ocean when it's sixty-something outside, that weather can still make for a great day at the beach.

The temperature felt closer to seventy degrees and the beach was nearly deserted, so Matt and I took full advantage of the situation. We spent a couple hours just walking along the shoreline, tossing rocks into the waves, and cuddling up in the sand to listen to the ocean as we watched the afternoon sun fade over the water. It was lovely.

  5. You two are so lucky to live near the beach. It is very relaxing to be at the beach and hear the surf rolling in. I miss California. Actually, I love the beach but am terrified of the water after watching Shark Week on Discovery last week. HOLY SMOKES! The Great White resides in the waters of the Pacific and it will take some time before I enter those creapy waters again after watching all of that horror on TV! But the Beach is awesome!

  8. I love the Ocean and for years never got in, just walked along enjoying the sights, smells and the fresh ocean air. I guess it was having my kids around that no matter where there was water, they were in it. Cold, murky, crazy water and kids are all about it. Scuba diving really made me dive in also. Love the Beach, love that you posted such great pictures of it. How about the Leigh Hill Beach Southern Ut. families? Lets not forget about that! tee hee

  9. Ryan's comment is funny. However, I think the train on the beach is more dangerous than sharks in the water! You make the beach look so fun. I usually wish for a hot tub whenever I am freezing on the shore.
