On Saturday, we finally crossed the Getty Center off our LA to-do list, after driving by it on the 405 who-knows-how-many times.

It took us this long because we currently have a strange aversion to art museums. I know, I know. Truthfully, we sort of overdid the art museum thing in Europe  -- and sadly, we are the type of tourists that make the great artists roll over in their graves. Many apologies to those who are infinitely more right-brained than us. So, anyway, we haven't been in much of a hurry to stroll another art museum here in the US. Luckily for the Getty, it's unique architecture was enough of a draw for us to grace it with our presence last weekend (ha). But seriously, I've always been extremely interested in architecture and interior design, and for that, Matt and I were both excited to see the Getty Center.

We spent most of our visit just roaming the grounds, enjoying the views, and checking out the architecture. Unfortunately, the gardens are being renovated right now so we missed out on what I'm told is a lovely stroll. Matt and I eventually wandered inside and admired some renaissance era art and gorgeous photographs, and were pleased to find that we actually enjoyed seeing them. (Perhaps our museum aversion is wearing off?) Then, we took in a beautiful LA sunset and took our sleepy baby home.
